1 Month

My little bear is one month old, I can't believe it. I LOVE being a mom! There aren't words to describe how amazing the love from a baby is. I can't get enough of him looking me in the eyes while I feed him and I melt when he falls asleep on my chest and smiles and coos at me. I could sit there all day just holding him...and I have. :)

The first couple weeks in baby land were a little scary because he is so small and delicate you are afraid you are going to hurt him. Hubby and I are now way more comfortable, but I do still check on him all the time just to make sure he is still breathing and am glued to the baby monitor when I am not next to him. Ahmad and I are kicking butt at this parenting thing. We definitely make a great team and are having so much fun. Even when we are elbow deep in poop...we somehow are able to find the humor in everything.

Right now we don't really have a structured schedule yet. So far, our days have been a cycle of diaper changing, eating and sleeping. Just starting last week, he has been waking up between 7:30am. He gets a new diaper, some milk and then stays awake for a few hours instead of passing out after a feeding like he usually does. It's fun starting to have more play time with him. We will usually play on his gym and do tummy time. Along with being awake in the morning for playtime, Wylan is starting to smile more and coo at us. Talk about adorable!  After a couple hours it's back to our diaper, feeding, napping cycle and he always ends his day with his favorite thing... a bath.

Today we had Wylan's 1 month check up appointment and he is looking great so far. Doctor says we have a calm, relaxed and healthy baby. He is weighing in at 9lbs,6oz and is 23 inches long.

All in all, I would say being a parent is a dream come true.

37 Weeks-Full Term

Time feels like it is slowing down the closer we get to baby Daher's birthday. We of course don't want him to come until he is ready, but we are SO excited to meet him. I missed week 36 post, nothing too major happened. We had our weekly doctors appointment and she informed me that I was already 1cm dilated. I was excited until she told me I could stay here for weeks....talk about first time mom on edge. We also got surprised with a 36 week ultra sound. They just wanted to measure the baby and my fluid levels. They were estimating him at 6lbs last week so he should be 6.5lbs this week. They think he will be in the 7lb range by delivery.

Ahmad and I are trying to be as patient as possible and taking advantage of this precious time we have just him and I. ( And Leon too) :) In a couple weeks it will no longer be just the two three of us. We have been doing a lot of date nights and having fun with house and baby projects. We have also been stocking up like we are getting ready for the zombie apocalypse. Freezer is full and we have ample amounts of toilet paper and paper towels.

Sorry this weeks photo is a little blurry. All of our camera's are packed and ready to go and I refuse to let anyone touch our hospital bags or take anything out, so this pic was taken with a phone.

How far along: 37 Weeks
Maternity clothes: Anything comfortable...I have about 4 outfit choices at this point.

Belly button in or out: Out.
Sleep: Tossing and turning at night with bathroom breaks. Trying to catch up on sleep during the day with a nap.
Best moment this week: Well it was technically last week, but finding out I am 1cm dilated and seeing our little guy on the big screen again.
Worst moment this week: The hot weather. It makes me feel gross.
Miss anything: Being able to pick stuff up off the floor. I would say moving in general has become a hassle.
Movement: A lot.
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks/contractions, cramping, swelling in my hands, feet and face.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Estatic!
ExerciseWalking

Anything making you queasy or sick: I'm not going to lie, the thought of delivery is a little scary, but I have faith in God that he will be there watching over us and mother nature is going to take over and do her thing. We are feeling prepared and confident, but I would appreciate it if you would keep us in your payers for a smooth and safe delivery.
Looking forward to: Meeting our baby!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Looking forward to: Our next doctors appointment and seeing how this little guy is doing.

We had a great time celebrating Mother's Day. Saturday we took my family out for a dinner celebration in honor of my Mom. On Sunday Ahmad surprised me with a sweet gift, a rubber ducky for my charm bracelet. Ahmad and his brothers planned a brunch for all us ladies. It was a lot of fun, especially since I am pregnant, it was my SIL first Mother's Day and my MIL's firs Mother's Day as a Teta. After brunch we went back to our house and all had a lazy afternoon hanging out and playing with baby Zane.

Hope everyone had a beautiful day with their Mothers and families.

33 Weeks-Baby Showers, 3-D Ultra Sounds, Photo Shoots and Anniversary's...Oh My!

Just so you are forewarned...this is a long post this week. We have been pretty busy these past couple of weeks...hence why I haven't taken a photo. :/ We had an awesome baby shower thrown for us by Ahmad's boss and celebrated Baby Daher with his coworkers. I also had my beautiful baby shower with my family and friends that Baby Daher's Grandma's threw for us. I was too busy taking it all in and having fun that I didn't get a lot of pictures, but my SIL's sister was able to take some and I can't wait to see them. I have been spending A LOT of my time washing and hang drying all of Baby Daher's clothes, blankets and getting his nursery organized. I am feeling very overwhelmed and thankful for everyone's generosity! My next task is to get out 50 thank you cards. We'll see how that goes with the carpel tunnel in my hand, sorry people in advance for my shaky handwriting!

We got a 3-D ultra sound done and it was amazing! Just when you think you couldn't possibly fall any more in love...you do. It was so cool how you can see every little detail...even the hair on his head! He is SOOOO handsome and already has chubby cheeks that Ahmad and I are just dying to kiss!
Yes.....That is his foot touching his head!

We were also suppose to do our maternity shoot this past weekend. How crazy is it that we are taking our maternity photo's the same time as our 1st wedding anniversary?! Unfortunately, we had to reschedule to this week because of the weather. This week it is suppose to be in the 80's so hopefully we will be able to get some great shots of our growing family and my amazing belly

How far along: 33 Weeks
  Maternity clothes: Anything comfortable.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: It has popped out like a turkey timer.
Sleep: Not sleeping that well with all the bathroom breaks. It's also hard to get comfy with my stomach the size of a basketball, thank God for naps. My doctor actually encouraged me to work on my napping skills and make sure I get good at taking naps as I will have to sleep when the baby sleeps. Thanks for the awesome RX doc!
Best moment this week: Celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary!
Worst moment this week: My nasal congestion and all the sneezing I have been doing. My ribs are starting to hurt!
Miss anything: Being able to buckle my sandals. I feel like a three year old all over again when Ahmad helps me put them on.
Movement: Still having a lot of movement.
Symptoms: Stomach is feeling crampy now and then. Also, starting to get in full on "I am about to me a Mama mode". :)
Happy or Moody most of the  time: I have never been more happy in my life!
ExerciseWalking.
Cravings: Fruit, cereal, eggs and peanut butter.
Wedding Rings on or off: Off. I miss wearing it!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No complaints.
Looking forward to: Our maternity shoot.

I am amazed at how quickly a year flies by. Knowing we are having our baby soon is making me really want to slow down and make sure I take everyday in and live it to the fullest. I want every day to be the best day for my cute little family. We had a great weekend celebrating our 1st year of marriage together. Friday the 25th was our actually anniversary date and Ahmad came home with diamonds and roses! I told him not to get me anything and that Baby Daher was the  best gift of all time, but what's a girl not to love about that?! He also grilled up dinner, did the dishes and followed that up with a foot rub. Baby Daher, your Daddy is THEE BEST!

Saturday was suppose to be our maternity shoot, but had to reschedule. So we had a lazy Saturday together watching movies, did our usual long walk, went to the mall and had dinner with our brother and BF of all time...Uncle Abudi. We also worked on Leon's circus tricks...he is so stinkin' cute!

Sunday we went out for brunch in celebration of our anniversary and it was amazingly delicious! We have a place we always love to go to for fancy celebration dinners, but I am loving all things breakfast right now, so I thought it would be fun to do something different. I have always wanted to go to the restaurant that is right above Snoqualmie Falls and I am glad we did. The food and service was excellent and so was the view. (And by view I mean my handsome husband!)

Don't worry...it's decalf!

30-Weeks

Baby Daher has been really moving around a lot this week. Ahmad and I are big lovers of music and dancing and it looks like baby is too. Whenever I am getting ready I will put on Pandora and Ahmad and I are always rocking out whenever we are driving. It has been a lot of fun seeing what gets Baby Daher moving and grooving. I can't tell though if he's dancing and fist pumping in agreement or if he's trying to tell me to turn it off. Haha Seeing how it's only a couple specific genres of music & artists I think he likes it. So far Baby Daher's favorite music is reggae and Hip Hop. He always starts dancing with our favorite Slightly Stupid, Sublime and Bob Marley. Awww...our little Rastafarian! He's also a big fan of a Tribe Called Quest. Although, I did catch him dancing to Chris Brown featuring Little Wayne's "These girls ain't loyal". It does have a catchy beat, so I won't hold it against him (but I am thinking he was kicking for me to turn it off.) ;)

How far along: 30 Weeks
Gender:  Baby Boy
  Maternity clothes: Anything comfortable.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Flat.
Sleep: Sleeping A LOT! Loving Naps.
Best moment this week: Our hospital tour. It was great to get familiar with where Baby Daher's birthday will be.
Worst moment this week: No complaints.
Miss anything: Being able to move like a ninja.
Movement: A lot! It feels like he is trying to break out.
Symptoms: I have a couple of Braxton Hicks a week, carpel tunnel in my right hand, taking lots of naps and feeling very emotional.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I have never been more happy in my life!
ExerciseWalking.
Cravings: Nothing specific, just loving food! :)
Wedding Rings on or off: Off. I miss wearing it!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No complaints.
Looking forward to: Our 3-D Ultrasound, we can't wait to see Baby Daher up close and personal!

Of course we had to take a selfie before we started our hospital tour! We are both really excited and confident in our choice of where to deliver. It's a world renown baby friendly hospital. We are very impressed with the knowledgeable staff and their philosophy of family-centered care. They really work hard to respect your values, beliefs and choices. Not that we are high maintenance and have a ton of requests. My birth plan...get to the hospital, have a baby and keep both of us healthy. :) Only 9 weeks and 3 days left until Baby Daher's due date!!!

Week 29-3rd Trimester

Oh....surprise...surprise...this pregnant bear missed another week. Sorry Baby Daher, doing my best, but I am a busy mama! My goal is to not miss another week until he gets here.

Lots of fun around here as we keep setting up Baby Daher's nursery. I will posts some pictures once I get it completed. Still waiting on some things to be delivered. We are also redecorating our townhouse and almost have everything completed. Nothing major, new furniture and a major re-org of EVERYTHING. Now I am working on a photo collage of our wedding pictures for above our couch (BTW..Shutterfly is amazing!) and I just have to get some last finishing pieces.

How far along: 29 Weeks
Gender:  Handsome Bambino
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans, leggings, yoga pants and comfy shirts. I have slowly started to steal things from Ahmad's closet. I am starting to feel like Regina from Mean Girls and this clip sums it up.
Have you started to show yet: Yes and then some!
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: So I thought it had popped out, but it is more flat than out.
Sleep: I am getting good sleep, but still snoring! I have started to become super tired again like I was in my 1st trimester.
Best moment this week: Ahmad and I putting Baby Daher's crib together. Okay...okay..he put it together and I was his cheerleader! I did help hold some pieces while he drilled. Thank you Aunt Dana and Uncle Majdi for the wonderful gift!
Worst moment this week: Trying on clothes.
Miss anything: My high energy level. I feel like I am starting to move slower and slower.
Movement: Feeling a lot of movement. I have been feeling him roll and turn.  It is so cool to feel his arm or leg on the outside of my belly. Ahmad has felt it too. Our favorite thing to do at the end of the night is sit there and feel him wiggling around.
Symptoms: I am getting Braxton Hicks every now and then. Feeling very tired.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I have never been more happy in my life!
ExerciseWalking if it's not raining. I have been doing a lot of housework...that counts too right?!
Cravings: I have been loving cherry Fage and mixing in dried cranberries, cashews and almonds. I have it every morning. Delish! Cereal. Fruit. Also, the chicken & cheddar sandwich from Potbelly Subs. I just ate one and I am wishing I had another!
Wedding Rings on or off: Off. My hands are swollen, but not my feet! :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: No complaints.
Looking forward to: Our hospital tour this week and starting to wash and put away some of the clothes, blankets and crib sheets we have for Baby Daher.

27 Weeks-In Complete Nesting Mode

Super horrified that it has been THREE weeks since I have been able to take a belly pic and update my blog! We have been in full on nesting mode here at Casa de Daher for the past couple of weeks. I feel like we moved out and then back into our house. Every cupboard, drawer and closet has been cleaned out. My wonderful husband even spent two back breaking days shampooing our carpets. We ended up having a fun sleep over in the living room because we got rid of our old furniture to clean the carpets and get ready for the new things to be delivered the next day. Leon loved it! By the end of our cleaning adventure Ahmad started taking selfies of him and his new BFF...the Rug Doctor.

In Baby News: I passed my Gestational Diabetes test! We had an exciting doctors appointment last week were we got another ultra sound done and were able to see Baby Daher again! He is starting to get chubby cheeks, big feet and cute ears. They told us we are going to have a little big guy. They are estimating he is going to be 8.5lbs at birth. (Let's pray for pushing reasons he is a little bit smaller!) Ahmad is just ecstatic over this news because he has dreams for his son to become a pro athlete. Baby Daher is in the 59th percentile and weighing in at a 2lbs and 2oz. He is about 1 week ahead of schedule, but they aren't going to adjust my due date. I keep debating with Ahmad that the money for a 3D ultra sound is worth it! :)

How far along: 27 Weeks
Gender:  Boy
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans and leggings. "Comfy-chic" is the best way to describe my style right now. Praying this weather gets better so I can break out my maxi dresses! I have been having fun shopping for a baby shower dress and something to wear for our maternity shoot.
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Stretch marks: Nope, thank you sweet baby Jesus! Putting Cocoa butter on 2-3 times a day.
Belly button in or out: It has officially popped out. It is so cute!
Sleep: Sleep has been great for me, but horrible for Ahmad. I think it is due to my congestion. He says "he feels like he is sleeping next to a 400lb man." I am a little disturbed trying to figure out how he knows what that sounds like. His only response to the concerned look on my face "experimenting in college is healthy." :/ Haha Lord have mercy! I have been trying everything, breath right strips, sleeping on certain sides, propping up extra pillows and nothing seems to help. Glad we got new comfy couches....looks like it's sofa city for him until this goes away.
Best moment this week: Breaking ground on Baby Daher's nursery! So excited with what we are planning. I just hope the vision in my head looks good once we get everything in it's place.
Worst moment this week: Being teased with getting only one apple fritter from Top Pot Donuts...I will take a dozen please! Other than that, no complaints.
Miss anything: Being able to paint my own toe nails, but now I have a valid reason to go get pedi's, plus the great foot massage. What?! It's to help prevent the swelling! ;)
Movement: This kiddo is all over the place. I think he is practicing his MMA moves.
Symptoms: Big belly and I am getting swelling in both my hands and numbness and tingling in my right arm. I think I may have started getting Braxton Hicks, but not sure. Sometimes when I am relaxing at night my stomach will just get super tight and it feels like it's going to pop. I heard this is the sensation of BH, going to talk to my OB at our next appointment to find out.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
ExerciseWalking a couple miles when it is sunny and prenatal yoga.
Cravings: ANYTHING with peanut butter especially apples, bagels & cream cheese, donuts and cheeseburgers. You know....healthy stuff full of vitamins. Why can't I crave a Kale salad?! So far I have been pretty good and not caving in too much. I did have a donut AND a cheeseburger this weekend and it was amazing!  Now if only I can find a place that makes a donut cheeseburger...then I will know dreams can come true.
Wedding Rings on or off: Off. I hate not being able to wear it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really.
Looking forward to: The month of April! It is Baby Daher month. We have our hospital tour, Labor & Delivery/infant care/breastfeeding class, two baby showers and best of all...our 1st wedding anniversary.

23 Weeks

How far along: 23 Weeks

Gender:  Boy
Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans and leggings. I recently bought some shirts from Victoria's Secret Pink line. They are really stretchy and comfy, but they run super big. Even though I am wearing an XS the shirt makes me look a little bigger than I am because it is so baggy. (The 90's called....their homies wants their shirts back!) Glad I am super comfy and will have room to grow and not have to buy more.
Have you started to show yet: Yes! It is the best feeling when people ask when is the baby due! I haven't had any belly rubbers yet, but I am not apposed. You can rub my tummy for good luck! :)
Stretch marks: Nope, putting Cocoa butter on 2-3 times a day.
Belly button in or out: It's half way out and becoming flat. Can't wait for it to pop out like a turkey timer.
Sleep: I keep tossing and turning and can't seem to get comfortable or a full night of sleep.
Best moment this week: Getting new furniture for our house!
Worst moment this week: Still having back pain!! Grrrrr! NOTHING has been helping....Chiropractor, Massage, Prenatal Yoga, Maternity Pillow, Walking...NOTHING! At this point I feel like I want to rip my leg off and beat my back with it! Thank you Sciatic Nerve, love you too! :)
Miss anything: No, but a glass of champagne would be nice.
Movement: Yes, we have a mover and shaker on our hands. Our nurse and ultra sound tech told us we have a very active baby.
Symptoms: Nothing other than back pain and a huge belly.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ecstatic!
Exercise: Just walking a little this week because of my back and yoga.
Cravings: Cereal and BBQ chips.
Wedding Rings on or off: On.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My next weigh in at the doctors office! :/
Looking forward to: Baby Daddy's Birthday and our next doctors appointment.

Worst moment this week: Still having back pain, but other than that no complaints.
Miss anything: Nope.
Movement: YES! He is starting to get stronger and stronger. He has been pretty calm this week.
Symptoms:  I find myself getting emotional listening to music. Especially when Ahmad sings to me Kip Moore's song Hey Pretty Girl. "Hey pretty girl you did so good, our baby's got your eyes." 6 years later and he can still give me the butterflies and make me fall for him all over again.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ecstatic!
ExerciseBack at it! Doing cardio, yoga and long walks.
Cravings: No cravings. Although, I did have a cupcake from Cupcake Royale and it was pretty euphoric...I took it down in about 30 seconds! LOL Trying to watch my sugar intake because I have my gestational diabetes test coming up.
Wedding Rings on or off: On. The swelling and tingling in my arms have finally gone away.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My next weigh in at the doctors office! :/
Looking forward to: Valentine's Day and Ahmad's birthday!

Our Little Bambino at 20 Weeks!

Our little guy was being SO sweet during our last ultrasound. At first he was moving around like crazy, but after a bathroom break for mama he was really calm. Our hospital gives us a print out of pictures from the ultrasound as well as a DVD with the pictures AND some video! When we were watching it there is a video of our little one getting the hiccups and then sucking his thumb. It is so precious! The dental/orthodontic background in me made me cringe a little, but who cares, he is all alone in the womb...let the little man comfort himself. We can't wait to meet him and hold him and love him!! Baby better be ready for lots of snuggles and kisses!

Worst moment this week: Experiencing some horrible back pain/sciatic nerve pain. Looking forward to my next yoga class, hopefully I can get it feeling better.
Miss anything: Nope.
Movement: YES! He is starting to get stronger and stronger. The other day I swear it felt like he did a somersault or rolled to the right then rolled to the left. I think we have a little athlete coming!

19 Weeks

Ooops! Forgot to do week 18 picture and post!

Not too much happening lately around Casa de Daher. Hubby is working like a maniac and I feel like I am starting to get into nesting mode. I can't believe this incredibly strong urge I have to clean and organize EVERYTHING! Like our little bambino is going to know if my closet is color coordinated or not?! (Now, if I could only start to act on that urge!) I am getting really excited starting to plan the nursery, can't wait too see everything come together!

How far along: 19 Weeks-Baby Daher is the size of a mango!
Gender: IT'S A BOY!!!
Weight gain: 11lbs.
Maternity clothes: Still wearing regular clothes and my maternity jeans. Although, I think it might be time to get some bigger, stretchy tops, don't want everything to get stretched out. :/
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: I have been sleeping great and sleeping A LOT!
Best moment this week: Feeling the first movement of our little bambino!!
Worst moment this week: The Victoria Secret Swim Suite catalog is out....'nuff said.
Miss anything: An ice cold glass of pinot gris
Movement: YES! It started off feeling like a little popcorn kernel popping and now it has gotten a little stronger. Mostly kicking early in the morning.
Symptoms: My hands have started to swell and my wrists are hurting sometimes. I'm sure my years as a dental assistant aren't helping the situation. Trying to cut back on salt to see if that helps.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!
Exercise: I have cut back on cardio because i'm suppose to be avoiding jerky movements. (Guess no more showing off my amazing dance moves.) The weather is getting a little warmer so i'm hoping to become a professional speed walker. Still loving prenatal yoga. Namaste.
Cravings: Not having any strong cravings. Any food in general is inhaled.
Wedding Rings on or off: On/Off-It just depends if my hands are swollen that day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have been getting a couple waves of nausea and I don't know why.
Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound appointment in a couple weeks! Can't wait to see our little man again and how much he has grown! Also looking forward to planning the nursery! So many ideas!
